Concurrent with the auspicious birth of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and Imam Jafar Sadegh, development project of Sarvestan & SaadatAbad Oilfields, that has been managed by OIED trough 16 Oil Fields Development Program , was successfully implemented and the fields came on stream.
Managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, Mehdi Fakour, made the remarks and said with Sarvestan & SaadatAbad Oilfields coming on stream, Fars province joined the oil rich provinces of the country. “Some 15 thousands barrels of oil from the fields will be transferred to Shiraz refinery on a trial basis”, he added. Fakour went on to say: in this project, which covers an area of 120*40 kilometers, seismic operation, drilling of 12 production, water disposal and gas injection wells, together with construction of Sarvestan oil and gas gathering plant and desalination and sweetening plants have been accomplished. According to ICOFC Public Relations with 15 000 barrels of oil production from the aforementioned fields, Iran will earn 1.5 million dollar.
“A contract was awarded to ODCC by OEID behalf ICOFC for developing the fields in 65 months and at 566bln Rials and €4200 million in October 2006 in the form of EPC (Engineering/Procurement/Construction), and it is operational by year’s end”, Fakour said.
Sarvestan oil field is located 110km southeast of Shiraz and Saadat Abadoil field lies 20km north of Sarvestan field. The two fields hold 1 billion and 402 million barrels of in situ oil and cover an area of 242 square kilometer.
