The main purpose of this project is to balance the consumption of gas , to store natural gas in underground structures, optimize gas storage for superior winter consumption and to prevent the disturbances made when problems occur in upstream production and transfer system. In warmer seasons of the year, where the consumption rate of natural gas is lower than production rate, the excess gas will be stored in underground reservoirs and conversely drawn back from the reservoirs during the colder seasons and injected to the transfer system.
